We strengthen the body with our own body tension aka Body Irradiation. Max efforts to the extreme. One of the best ways to expand ROM in the joint (pails and rails). ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ A lot of flexion work on a straight leg hip and shoulder. Happened to have these awesome benches which work amazing for propping the body. We followed up with more contraction, not in the videos, doing passive range lift offs and hovers. The idea is to teach you how to access the tissue that we are trying to train. In class I give people options and positions to try that may help them feel what I want them to feel. But ultimately, it’s up to them to explore and play and find out how to feel their stuff working. Because it’s THEIR body. And no one knows it better than them. ⁣ ⁣ I don’t endeavour to tell people what to do and how to train and how they should look while they train. I endeavour to teach people about their bodies. To guide them to understand them better. To learn how to listen to what their body needs. And ultimately, to no longer need me. Because I CANNOT know their body better than they do. ✨Student Highlight✨ @vital.roots #Fun#FunctionalRangeSystems⁣ ・・・⁣ ⁣ Shoutout to new #Kinstretch student Aaron.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ We’ve seen each other around the gym for a while as lifting buddies, but last week Aaron decided to come try out my class.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ He’s back again this week absolutely crushing the game. I’m impressed watching him move and by the realizations he shares. I love to hear what’s going on for my students in my classes and to see them nailing it! ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Body control is the jam and could very well be the missing piece in your training. The beauty of Kinstretch is that it can be whatever you need it to be: a hard training day, a recovery day, and everything in between. Every step we take, our hip extends, and typically also combines with lumbar extension. This is a normal joint coupling, however, if you can ONLY extend your hip with your spine and have zero independent hip extension before coupling with spine, then the load that should be distributed across lumbar vertebrae AND hip, is only being distributed to lumbar.
