Photography Tip by @chrishenry - Selective focus 📸 A question I receive a lot is “how do I improve my landscape photography?”. In my opinion where a lot of people fall short when first starting out is that their images are too busy, as in there’s no single focal point to which the eye is drawn. Instead of trying to capture 100 things in one photo, select 1 or 2 strong subjects and shoot only that. Learn how a foreground object can work in tandem with an impressive background. Push yourself to simplify as much as possible. For me, landscape photography is a discipline in which less is quite often much more. Captured here are the Faroe Islands from a ferry porthole on the way to Kalsoy. - Check his Blue Haze preset pack. Bamboo toothbrushes made from sustainable bamboo are an easy way to ditch the excess plastic. While the wooden handle is fully compostable (or upcyclable!), the plastic bristles will have to go in the bin, but fear not - they weigh practically nothing so they are far less wasteful than a conventional plastic toothbrush! Prefer the electric experience? If you use branded replacement heads, check with the manufacturer - they may accept them back for recycling, and if they don’t, write to them! The winking galapagos tortoise hatchling 🐢🖤 Video by @crittercatchermeg #folkgreen Ps: The reason he has 2 scutes with green paint on his carapace, aka top shell, is to indicate what clutch this baby came from/identification Follow for more! @folkgreen 🌲 - Plant a Tree (or Two) 💚 In 2018 the United Nations' Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) report, the U.N. suggests an additional 2.5 billion acres (1 billion hectares) of forest in the world could limit global warming to 2.7 degrees Fahrenheit (1.5 degrees Celsius) by 2050. That's a lot of trees, but you could plant one or two, right? One young tree can absorb CO2 at a rate of 13 pounds (5 kilograms) per tree. Every. Single. Year. And that's just an itty bitty baby tree. Once that tree reaches about 10 years old, it's at its most productive stage of carbon storage. Then it can absorb 48 pounds (21 kilograms) of CO2 per year. Trees also remove all other kinds of junk from the air, including sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides and small particles. So go ahead, plant a tree. It's good for everybody.
