We’re in the process of designing SIX (yes 6!) new petite children’s night lights for you. The first one will be ready to check out this week. Go to our website (link in profile) and scroll to the bottom of the page and sign up to be notified when the first design is up online. There are many different styles and all equally as adorable as the next. We won’t be doing long runs of the lights as we don’t mass produce, so make sure you get your name down 💕 . . . . . . . #nightlights #childrenslights #bedtimeroutine #sleeproutine #toddlernightlights

(Kane’s typical photo face🤦🏼‍♀️) ...The other day I told you a bit more about who we are and I’ve got to admit it was a bit terrifying. I’ve never really shared anything personal, even though the brands I end up falling in love with are run by people who are very transparent (some examples are my faves @littlepaperlaneshop owned by @thejaydeuniverse and @eachtoown). I think it’s that fear of opening yourself up to negativity or feeling too old/irrelevant to be interesting, any of those little self doubting voices that pop up in your head from time to time. I’ve decided to stop listening to those negative things and be more open (online, it’s weird as I’m not that shy in real life). Not that there’s anything wrong with being shy, I’ve got two very shy kids, and I always tell them that we need shy people just like we need the extroverts to balance it all out 😂 I thought I’d let you know why we went off line and stopped making lights for a few years. I had a really bad run with health, for the last couple of years I’ve had some weird Rheumatoid Arthritis-like symptoms but I don’t have RA. I’ve been tested for everything under the sun (celiac, auto immune stuff, Ross River etc etc), honestly I’ve been tested right up the waazoo (literally) 🤣 and I have nothing other than what I already knew which is ITP (blood disorder) and Ulcerative Colitis, but I get “frozen” and excruciating hands and elbows in the morning that eventually warm up, but when I first get up I can’t squeeze the toothpaste or brush my hair. I have extra worn down discs in my spine but I have great bone density. I had a cervical disc replacement last year and about 3 months ago I had a lumbar spinal fusion. My back is awesome now but the L4/5 fusion was one of the most painful post-op experiences I’ve ever had. Our son was diagnosed with two forms of dyslexia and dysgraphia which is a relief as it’s taken years to figure out, and trying to do it all on a tight budget has been tough. So back to the lights. Now my back is ok, we can make stuff again! Kane makes the lights and we both design them. I cannot WAIT to show you the two new designs, they’ll be petites again, and they are DIVINE! ❤️

This was a custom A we did for someone who wanted a custom A light, funny that 🤔...but on a slightly serious note, I don’t tend to talk about us because it’s a bit awkies but this time I’m going to. We were the first people to make big lights like these in Australia (about 10 years ago). We are a family of 4 living in a regional area, and we run 2 small businesses between us, I’m studying full time to change careers cuz work isn’t easy to come by in small country towns. I have a few friends up here who have 2 jobs each, sometimes more. It’s a sacrifice to get out of the city and mostly it’s worth it but it’s not all perfect. Most of us don’t earn loads of money, but personally our home is filled with love and for that I’m seriously thankful. We live in a small supportive community, the kind that delivers food to your door after your 3rd operation in 2 years-kinda supportive. My partner is a legend, he’s calm and kind and funny and always looks for the best in people, he works his arse off for us, and after he finishes his day job (he’s a freelance 3d artist) he makes these lights after hours and on the weekend, he illustrates these letters from scratch, we don’t buy the shells or the lights from overseas, we cut them ourselves and we don’t take anyone else’s designs and make them our own. This little business helps to put food on our table and keeps us going. In a couple of weeks we’ve got a new smaller design coming, we know our large lights are at a price point that’s not accessible for many. We also know you guys loved our petite range, we get asked to make them again all the time, but we’re creative types, not financial types and we kinda made them at a loss, whoops 🤓 BUT we’ve learned a few lessons and now we’ve got some really cute stuff in the pipeline that we can’t wait to show you. If you can, please support a little business like ours or ANY from @buyfromthebush, especially any from drought affected towns, in return we’ll give you something that’s handmade with care, plastic-free and made to last ❤️ . . #buyfromthebush #letterlights #nightlight #kidslights #marqueelights #nurseryinspo @ladystartups #ladystartups
