Tonight, the sun dipped low to cast the clouds in golden shimmer. Not to be outdone, the snow reflected the firey hues up and out in a soft pink glow. In their combined light, the trees, mountains, and traveling people were suspended in the fading magic of golden hour. #mygrandteton #findyourpark #encuentratuparque NPS Photo/L. Watkins

Jim Manges looked at a snow shovel and said “I’ve got a better idea.” Above the window, you’ll see his second story door. ❄️☃️ He was thinking ahead when he built his house in 1911. In the winter of 1904, the valley received 11.7 inches in one day making it the snowiest day on record for Jackson. #mygrandteton #findyourpark #encuentratuparque NPS photo/L. Watkins

How old do you think these snowshoes are? A portion of the snowshoes we use for ranger led programs are antiques. You can literally walk a mile in someone else's snowshoes!

"We cannot overlook the importance of wild country as a source of inspiration to which we give expression in writing, in poetry, drawing and painting, in mountaineering, or in just being there." - Olaus Murie The Teton Range rises above a rich landscape of snow covered pines and sparkling frost. Within this landscape, weasels turn white and elk travel to warmer territory. From poems to paintings, art expresses the awe one feels when gazing up at mountains much larger and older than oneself. What inspires you on this Monday morning? #MondayMotivation #mygrandteton #mygtnp #findyourpark #encuentratuparque NPS Photo/L. Watkins

“Welcome sweet November, the season of senses and my favorite month of all.” — Gregory F. Lenz The arrival of November brings many changes to Grand Teton. Along with cooler weather and chances for snow, many areas of the park have closed for the season. Visit our website to learn more about seasonal changes in the park.
