A large % of whatever the mother has to offer. {which can leave mama depleted} Omega-3s are essential to baby development and a mama's brain function, both during pregnancy and postpartum. 💫 Hello brain fog, anxiety and depression 💫 What is an optimal source of Omega-3? Fish. 🐟 It is suggested during postpartum, to consume fish 2-3x/week. But how else can you help to supplement if maybe you are only getting a fish-based omega-3 1-2x/week? WALNUTS. What you see in the picture above is 1/4 cup organic, raw walnuts. 1/4 cup has 156% of the suggested daily consumption. Walnuts contain polyunsaturated fatty acids, which are healthier than saturated fats. In addition, walnuts have alpha-linolenic and linoleic acids, which may have anti-inflammatory effects that keep blood vessels healthy (small change noted in a study, but still a positive change). Being a plant based fatty acid results in less of a "kick" of fatty acids than the fish-based. Typically less absorption, but again, I am talking about the walnuts being an addition.
