⁣A different twist on #TrainingTuesday⠀ ⠀ First video is 90kg and second is my 100kg personal best! 🏋🏼‍♀️⠀ ⠀ We'll have a quick chat about form on deadlift PB's. ⠀ ⠀ Form sometimes isn't perfect when you're testing your limits, but I like to keep these things in mind to avoid injuries. Specially my lower back. These are some tips to keep in mind when attempting your personal bests. ⠀ ⠀ ➕ The key thing to remember when you deadlift is to keep your spine neutral, some would say "keep your back straight". Keeping your chest up helps with this. ⠀ ⠀ ➖If I start my deadlift and I can already feel my back is starting to curve (like a cat when it's angry 🙀) I won't complete the lift as I could hurt my lower back and stop me from lifting for months! ⠀ ⠀ ➕ Focus on a spot about 2-3m ahead of you to help keep your head neautral. ⠀ ⠀ ➖ Don't lift with your arms, just use them to attach the bar to you. My approach to lifting is to visualise myself already lifting it & then I step into the cage and remember every time I’ve struggled with less and look like this 😂 Fearing failure is inevitable so imagine yourself failing at the same thing a year from now? Change things? When you surpass the ‘newbie’ gain phase of training you plateau. You change up reps, rest, sets, tempos or even increase training of antagonist muscle groups to improve performance. This process can be the most demotivating part & where people tend to give up because they stop seeing progress. I worked at hitting a 40kg bench press for months! Some weeks I was stronger then others depending on food/workload/ sleep/sickness etc. But I never stopped bench pressing whether it was going back as low as 30kg or 40kg at very low reps! The most helpful thoughts that consistently went through my head was “sometimes you have to go backwards to go forwards” & “your not training for a powerlifting comp so chill” AHAHA today I hit 45kg x 5rep x 3sets & I may have just jumped up & down a lil with the biggest smile on my face 😂 Fear not succeeding 👊🏼😬

It’s about seeing and feeling the progress and what that means to you. I’ve went to being the heaviest I’ve ever been to the lightest and now putting weight back on.
