This is a common site across regional Australia. It's your typical looking dingo, Australia's largest predator and hugely controversial. On farmland it is a 'wild dog' pest and killed because it attacks livestock (like wolves in US), in national parks it's a protected native species. It plays an important role as an ecological guardian with cascade effects, keeping large grazers like kangaroos and introduced foxes and cats in check, which in turn protects small endangered marsupials and, ironicaly, livestock which foxes kill too. #dingo #wildlifeconservation #australianwildlife #apexpredator #predator #ecology #wolf #predatorlivestockconflict #humanwildlifeconflict #coexistence #nonlethalcontrol

The famous Kalahari black-maned lion (Panthero leo)! We saw 23 lions over 24hrs on a recent trip to Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, South Africa. Unfortunately, the lions living on the edge of this park are often shot due to conflict with livestock farmers. #predatorlivestockconflict #lionconservation
